About LeighÂ
Rooted Apothic exists because I live a life that requires care to be real, not theoretical.
I’m the owner of a consulting company where I help other humans build sustainable, life-first businesses. I’m also a wife, a mother to three tiny humans, a lifelong volleyball player, an avid gardener, and an increasingly committed homesteader—complete with chickens and a long-term dream of a full-fledged farm.
Those roles aren’t separate from this work. They are the reason for it.
Why Herbalism, Really
My relationship with herbal medicine didn’t start as a hobby or an aesthetic. It began years ago working in a Chinese medicine office alongside an acupuncturist, where I saw how effective plant medicine can be when it’s practiced with restraint, precision, and respect.
Later, motherhood changed the stakes entirely.
When you’re responsible for developing nervous systems, sensitive skin, and small bodies, you learn quickly that natural is not a sufficient standard. You learn to ask better questions. You learn to read labels differently. You learn to care deeply about sourcing, preparation, and safety. And you learn to say no—to trends, to shortcuts, to anything that doesn’t hold up under real-life scrutiny.
Rooted Apothic grew out of that learning curve.
How I Live + How I Make
I garden because I want to know where things come from.
I raise chickens because responsibility matters to me.
I make things slowly because rushing breaks more than it fixes.
I’m fiercely protective of my family and deeply invested in building systems—whether in business or in the home—that actually support life instead of draining it.
Herbalism, for me, is not about doing more. It’s about doing things well.
What You’ll Find Here

This is not performative wellness.
It’s cultivated care, built to fit real lives.
A Note on Integrity
Just like in my consulting work, I don’t believe in overpromising or overselling here. I believe in transparency, responsibility, and respecting both people and plants.
If something is offered through Rooted Apothic, it’s because I use it, trust it, and feel confident standing behind it—for myself, my family, and yours.
